Cree Published Energy-Efficient Lifecycle White Paper on LEDs

Cree has just published “Energy-Efficient Lifecycle White Paper” on LED lights by Cree Inc. Cree researched usage of light-emitting diodes in particular usage fields as recessed downlighting and display spotlighting and focused on their energy costs and environmental impact. Compared to incandescent, halogen and compact fluorescent bulbs, the LEDs consume much less energy and offer longer service life. It turned out, that LEDs are the most efficient and advantageous lights sources for the application in the mentioned above fields. Moreover, they don’t include toxic mercury as opposed to compact fluorescent lights, what means a greener solution.
