Representatives of Cree have informed that the company’s scientists managed to achieve a record efficacy of 186 lumens per watt for a white high-power light-emitting diode.
Such outstanding result shows Cree’s steady focus on enhancing its’ LED performance. Cree conducted special tests that confirmed the LEDs are capable to offer 197 lumens of light output and to achieve 186 lumens per watt efficacy at 4577K correlated color temperature. The experiment was conducted under standard LED test conditions, including a drive current of 350mA and room temperature.
John Edmond, Cree co-founder and director of advanced optoelectronics, states that this amazing result proves that Cree has a strong focus on developing this technology and has already achieved great and very important results. The way humanity develops entails energy challenges, which can be partially solved with help of LEDs. Cree does its’ best to offer power cutting LED technologies.
The described LEDs are still not available but Cree offers a rich production range of 100+ lumen LEDs.
